Intrinsically Safe Two Way RadiosMotorola offers two way radio products that are intrinsically safe for use in hazardous classified locations. Customer’s using a Motorola portable two way radio in these environments should consider intrinsically safe equipment. The two way radio products are Approved and Certified by Factory Mutual Research Corporation, (FM), Canadian Standards Association, (CSA), Mine Safety and Health Administration, (MSHA), and or CENLEC, (European Committee for Electro technical Standardisation). The intrinsically safe portable radio unit consists of the Approved radio, Approved battery, and Approved accessories and or options. The certifying Agency Approval label will be affixed to the Approved portable radio models. The Approval label specifies the classification consisting of - Class/Division/Group and battery part number(s) that must be used for that Approved Portable radio. Using a battery that is not listed on the intrinsic safe Agency Approval label will void the Approval rating of that portable radio unit. Most common examples where intrinsically safe equipment should be considered for use are: public safety, refineries, recycling, grain elevators, chemical manufacturing and oil platforms. BTW Communications Pty Ltd is able to assist in determining whether your business or market should consider intrinsically safe portable radio equipment. BTW Communications Pty Ltd is also able to advise on which Approved battery, Approved accessory or Approved option is applicable to use with your Approved portable two way radio equipment. |
